When you plan a trip to Delhi in winter, what comes to mind? The lip-smacking food, modern infrastructure, and busy markets? Well, there’s so much more to Delhi! The winter experience here goes beyond what the eyes can see.

Delhi in winter feels soft on the skin, with the warm sunlight peeking through the white fog and softening the winter greyness. “Dilli” fills your heart and soul with delicacies, wonderful sights, and monuments. Whether you love food, history, or shopping, the city has something for everyone. December brings crisp winds, bonfires, cozy coats, hot sizzling food, fresh flowers on the streets, and festive decorations for Christmas, and New Year. This is the best time to visit Delhi and feel the warmth it offers. Let me give you a guide to Delhi in December.

Why December is the Perfect Time to Visit Delhi

December is the perfect month to escape the scorching heat of summer, where temperatures reach up to 45°C (113°F), and the monsoon, which brings around 780 mm of rain annually. These conditions make it unpleasant, but December is the month of cold-crip wind that makes your visit worthwhile.

Mornings start with soft sunlight and mist, while temperatures range from about 25°C during the day to around 5°C at night. It is the perfect time to stroll around Delhi’s streets and iconic monuments. You can enjoy the finger-licking world-famous Delhi street food that tastes even better in the winter!
